No changes in national teams week
There are not many competitions in action in Europe while national teams start fighting for World Cup spots
There were absolutely no changes in the Top 50 places of the Eurofoot European club rankings in a week where all the major national Leagues stopped, due to the start of the 2022 World Cup qualification matches in Europe. So, Bayern München ensured they would be top of the list for the 31st week in a row, with the same 891 point margin over second placed Real Madrid.
Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC are also chasing, followed by an English duo formed by Manchester City and Manchester United. Inter Milano, RB Leipzig and Villarreal CF close a Top 10 that will surely change next week, with the return of the Leagues, and may even be revolutionised with the return of the European Cups and the loss of last season’s bonuses from the same phases.
Off course some Leagues kept on going, in places such ad the Republic of Ireland or Gibraltar, as well as some secondary competitions. So, the highest profiled team to cause a change of positions was Spannish Second Division side CD Leganés, who got a draw (1-1) from the trip to UD Almeria and dropped five places, from 78th to 83rd. So, French side Stade Rennes climbed one spot without even playing, moving on from 79th to 78th.
